At Rogers Law Firm, I realize that getting good advice on dealing with difficult situations (including troublesome tenants) early can help prevent costly and time-consuming litigation later. I have extensive experience in dealing with resident disputes of all kinds and am happy to help you reach resolution and limit any exposure.

Evictions

From the simplest eviction for nonpayment of rent, to holding over, to illegal activity, the firm has handled evictions of all kinds. I can provide you as much or as little assistance as you need with your case, from consulting on strategy to filing and handling the entire case in a cost-effective manner.

Fair Housing

Can you name the seven federally-protected classes? Or the others that are added by your local ordinance? Rogers Law Firm can and has extensive experience in all aspects of fair housing from allegations of retaliation to fair housing complaints and related litigation. I have given many talks on fair housing and handled numerous related matters and would be happy to consult with you on yours.

Small Claims Defense

Most tenant litigation is brought in Justice Court in the form of small claims cases. I have handled hundreds of matters in small claims court including security deposit disputes, repair and remedy cases, property damage disputes, and many others. I have the ability to scale and tailor the representation of your matter – from providing coaching on how to handle your case to handling it for you – which allows me to minimize your costs while limiting your liability.

Lease Drafting & Review

Do you use a lease form that was drafted for use in multiple states? If so, you may be overlooking many of the Texas-specific requirements for residential and commercial leases. Rogers Law Firm has extensive experience with reviewing and editing leases, addenda, community policies, and related forms to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.

Vendor Disputes

If you have ever had a vendor fail to deliver goods or render services, you know what a hassle and expense that can create. My familiarity with contract and lien laws in Texas allows me to defend you and to make sure you are not taken advantage of when your vendor fails to perform.
